The Studio is Closed

Due to the pandemic and other factors, Rainrose Wellness Studio has been forced to close its doors. However, tarot readings are still available online, and the Rainrose healing practice will re-open in summer 2021, in the form of house calls. Stay tuned for updates!

Reiki

Reiki

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word reiki comes from the Japanese 霊気, meaning “a mysterious atmosphere; a miraculous sign.” A combination of rei (“soul/spirit”) and ki (“vital energy”), it’s commonly referred to as “universal life-force energy,” a natural, soothing, healing power flowing around us at all times. Doing reiki simply means channeling this force through the hands with the intent to heal.

And it feelings amazing.

Multiple studies have shown the mental and physical benefits of reiki. It’s one of the most scientifically respected (and researched) forms of energy work, and while science can’t tell you why it works, it’s increasingly forced to admit that it does.

Well, I can tell you why I think it works: we’re not built to be broken. Life is robust and self-sustaining; it’s constantly making more of itself. Whether or not you believe there’s an intelligent force behind it, it’s undeniable: life loves life. The structure of nature all but insists we thrive. We have to work hard, creating entire societies of disengagement from our natural rhythms, to effectively sabotage this flow. If life’s generosity was easy to undermine, we simply wouldn’t be here.

Reiki is not about effort and work. Reiki is about receiving, drifting with the current of the universal river. It invites ease so your body and mind can do what they’re naturally inclined to do: heal themselves. Deep relaxation, full-bodied peace, and even a sense of divine nurturance are not uncommon during a session – getting you out of your own way so you can reap the much-touted benefits of ever-present healing spirit.

And that’s why I think reiki works.

But you can judge for yourself. Book a session and give it a try!

What to Expect

I don’t often physically touch a client during a reiki session. Many practitioners do, but I feel most called to work “in the energy field.” Touch can happen, though, so do let me know if you have any issues with that. Wear comfortable clothes, and be sure to drink plenty of water afterward. I often wear rose oil; let me know beforehand if that (or any other scent) bothers you.

Access Bars

Access Bars

Most of us are familiar with pressure points – nodes of concentrated nerves that, when pressed or punctured, enable us to release tension throughout the body. Most of us, however, don’t know that there are also peculiar points on the head that allow us to release psychic energy and access our higher, truer selves.

I have to admit, the first time I had my “Bars” run, I had my doubts. But no amount of skepticism could undo the after-effects of this gentle, relaxing, and dare I say entertaining therapy – one with enough laughter and honesty to make its more esoteric elements feel perfectly natural. Lifelong blockages to my progress, happiness, and clarity of thought seemed to vanish into thin air, and, after a few sessions, my entire world transformed. The Bars succeeded where talk therapy, yoga, and even meditation had failed; they enabled me to see the abuses I was tolerating, the disabling beliefs I had adopted, and the infinite potentials I was resisting.

There are countless success stories with Bars, ranging from mental illness recovery to professional advancement, quitting smoking to finding true love. Spiritual doors can be thrown open, allowing people to discover whole new levels of peace and connection. It’s a powerful mode of identifying the cultural and personal lies (from this lifetime and beyond) that prevent us from fully embodying our whole selves. Access Bars is one way – and a brilliantly simple one – to undo the ego, with all its judgments and limitations, and finally be you.

So why not book a session and see what’s possible? Worst case scenario, it feels like you got a great massage; best case scenario, you’re whole life changes for the better.

Feel free to visit the Access Consciousness site for more information.

What to Expect

Feel free to talk! A Bars session can be as chatty as you want. I’ll occasionally use some strange terms, but I’ll explain them beforehand; they’re meant to help the process. The only places I touch are your head, forehead, hands and feet. As for the rest of you, wear comfortable clothes, and be sure to eat and drink afterward. I often wear rose oil; let me know beforehand if that (or any other scent) bothers you.

Rain and Roses

The services I offer are among those that pulled me through the toughest times of my life. While I aim to help and heal, please know that “spiritual bypassing” is not on my agenda. I see just as much value in holding space for your pain – and your “shadow self” – as I do in unleashing your potential and taking life by the horns. We are given challenges in order to grow; these healing modalities are intended to make space for that growth, so we don’t get stuck in the mud when we’re meant to bloom. That said, if you feel a pull toward shadow work – to find meaning under ground, and explore the not-so-pretty aspects of yourself – I always make space for that in my services. Immeasurable beauty has come from claiming all aspects of life, not just the light ones. It takes rain to make roses grow, after all.

For more on turning “ugly” into art, feel free to visit the Rainrose Blog. There’s a therapeutic magic to the creative arts; it’s an energy work all it’s own.

But still, a reiki or Bars session couldn’t hurt.
