Policy Statement

Upon Arrival: Please arrive to your appointment 5 minutes early. Street parking can be found on either E Avenue or 21^st; out of respect for neighbors, park as close to the entrance as possible. Online intake forms should be submitted at least 24 hours in advance, otherwise they will be provided and completed before your massage, possibly cutting into your massage time. In the case of late arrivals, your session will be shortened and will end at the appointed time. Tardiness beyond 15 minutes will result in a canceled appointment without refund.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations will be refunded in full if formally issued at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment. Cancellations are accepted via text or email. Clients who miss three appointments in a row will no longer be allowed to schedule. In the event of cancellation on the end of the practitioner, you will be notified as soon as possible, and fully refunded and/or rescheduled. Anyone presenting symptoms of contagious illness of any kind should reschedule as they will not be accepted into the massage studio.

Payment: Payments are expected in advance of or at the beginning of each appointment. Debit and credit is accepted via Venmo and PayPal; cash is accepted at the studio. Pricing is determined by length and type of treatment. Tips are accepted but not required. At this time, insurance is not accepted.

Scope of Practice: Rainrose Wellness offers massage and Reiki energy work sessions. Neither of these services are intended to diagnose, prescribe medicine for, or cure any disease, mental or physical. All massage treatments will fall within the expectations of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and meet the legal requirements of licensing in the state of Washington. If you present factors outside my scope of practice, I am required by law to refer you to an appropriate physician or therapist. A doctor’s note may be required before continuing with massage.

Client-Practitioner Expectations: If at anytime, in any way, you are uncomfortable during your massage, please let me know. I am more than willing to adjust things to foster a positive experience. During massage, you may leave on or take off any amount of clothing you wish; you will remain modestly draped (breasts, genitals, and gluteal cleft consistently covered) throughout your massage. You will be alone in the room during periods of dressing and undressing. If for any reason you need to get off the massage table mid-session, please let me know, and I will step out to accommodate your privacy. Treatment can be terminated by either party at any time. Sexual conversation, innuendo, or behavior will result in immediate termination of session, no future bookings will be allowed, and misconduct will be reported to the authorities.

Communication: Intake forms are provided to all massage clients at their first appointment, and are kept on file for future reference. The collected information is meant to inform the practitioner of how best to serve you during your session; honesty and cooperation is beneficial to both parties. Client questions and communications are only accepted via email; replies can typically be expected within 3 business days. Excessive or inappropriate contact outside of scheduled appointments may be considered a boundary violation and could result in the termination of the client-therapist relationship. Feel free to talk or remain silent during your session; I am happy to listen, but please know that by law giving medical or psychiatric advice is outside my scope of practice.

Hygiene & Allergies: Rainrose Wellness aims to be sensitive to a variety of client needs, including scent and chemical sensitivities. Please arrive to your appointment CLEAN and FRAGRANCE FREE. Lotions used during your massage will be hypoallergenic and unscented. Infrequent use of essential oils takes place in the Rainrose therapy room, but not during a session unless specifically requested. At present, there are two cats sharing the same building as Rainrose Wellness; efforts are made to keep them out of the therapy room, but the danger of triggering allergies is still present. I am willing to schedule out-of-office sessions for those with allergies that prevent them from visiting my primary location, so long as you are able to provide a clean space large enough for me to set up my table. In such an event, all other policies listed here still apply. Should I arrive more than 15 minutes late to a remote session, the client will be fully refunded. Remote sessions are reserved for health reasons only, and can be discussed and arranged via email.

Privacy Policy: Anything discussed during your session is confidential. No personal information will leave the space of the professional relationship unless under a court order, or in the case of someone’s physical safety being compromised – at which point relevant authorities may be contacted. All digital information or paperwork containing sensitive information will be stored in a secured space.
